It is believed that Oman has been inhabited since ancient times and was one of the earliest centres of trade on the Arabian Peninsula. Its strategic location along the Arabian Sea made it an important trading hub , connecting merchants from Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. While many legends surround its early rulers , there is no single founding myth for the country.
However,Oman then was made up of small tribal settlements and coastal communities, Most people relied on fishing , farming and trade for their livelihood. Over time , these communities united under local rulers , leading to the foundation of the Sultanate of Oman and the modern nation it is today.
